Mrs. John Klein, long time resident of of Sioux county, died July 9 at the home of her brother, W.W. Schultz. Cancer caused her death at the age of 70.

Lydia was Schultz born in Mt. Pleasant, Iowa, August 2, 1869, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frederick W. Schultz. She came to Sioux county in 1888.

In Orange City, February 28, 1912 she was married to John T. Klein by the Reverend Mr. David McEwan. To them one son, John Paul was born.

Mrs. Klein was a member of the American Reformed Church and formerly was active in church work.

She is survived by her husband, her aged mother who makes her home with her son, W.W. Schultz and by her only child, Dr. John Paul Klein of Chicago.
Also by her brother, W.W. Schultz and her step-children, Mrs. W.J. Hilmert of Grand Rapids; Henry Klein, Mrs. Edward Fisher and Mrs. H.J. Vande Waa all of Orange City.

Funeral services were held at the Dr. Edward Fisher home at 2 p. m. and in the American Reformed Church at 2:30 p. m. Tuesday. Reverend Mr. LeRoy Nattress officiated. Interment was in the Orange City Cemetery.

Ver Steeg all of Pella; Mrs. Earl Klein and son Kenneth of St. James, Minnesota; Mrs. John Jonge-waard and Mrs. Bert Jongewaard of Jefferson, Iowa, Mrs. Al Roelofs and Mr. and Mrs. Dick Roelofs of Rock Valley, Reverend Mr. and Mrs. A. Rozendaal of Maurice.
