Edward Anton Hausman
Mr. Edward Anton Hausman, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Hausman, was born Feb. 15, 1888 in St. Louis, Mo. He received his education in the Christian Day School at Maplewood, Mo. He was confirmed at the Lutheran Church at Maplewood on March 21, 1901.

For his life's work he chose that of woodcraft, specializing; as a pattern maker. Due to ill health he discontinued this work and came to Iowa in 1915. In 1916 he was united in marriage to Miss Lydia Thauwald of Altenburg, Mo. The young couple commenced farming 2 miles northwest of the St. John Church, and have been living in the community ever since, except for two year, March 1932 to March of 1934, when they farmed 8 miles south west of Rock Rapids. Since about 1940, his health failed and partial loss of his eye sight. He retired from farming last March and has lived in the town of Boyden since that time Mr. Hausman passed away suddenly on Tuesday evening at the age of 62 years, 9 months, and six days.

Surviving him are his widow and two children, Edward K. Hausman of Boyden and Mildred (Mrs. Fritz Kruse) of Edgerton, Minn., 2 grand children; two brothers, three sisters. One brother and one sister, preceded him in death.

Funeral services were held Sat., Nov. 25 at St. John Lutheran Church with Rev. Wm. Striepe officiating. Interment was in the Boyden Cemetery.

Pallbearers were: Wm. C. Jantzen, Verdon Harpham, Herman Schoeneman, Wm. A. Winter C. L. H. Vagts and Wm Schroeder.
