From the Rock Valley Bee, May 21, 1926:

YOUNG LIFE SUMMONED

Johannes Talsma, son of Mr. and Mrs. J. Talsma, died at his home southwest of Rock Valley May 12. He was born at Twin Brooks, S.D. June 21, 1917. His death was due to heart trouble. Although he had never been strong it was evident some time ago that he could live but a few months or weeks. His death, however, was a great blow to his bereaved parents who have the sympathy of many friends in their sorrow. Funeral services were held at the home Friday afternoon and the remains were taken to the cemetery at Lebanon for burial.

His death certificate has Johannas H. Talsma; born June 21, 1917 in Twin Brooks, S.D.; parents Jelte Talsma and Agnes Stiemstra, both born in Holland; died in Rock Valley, where he had lived for five years, at 5:45 a.m. on May 12, 1926; cause, pericarditis, duration 20 days; contributory cause, rheumatism, duration 2 years; buried in the Lebanon cemetery.
