JOHN KLEENE DIES OF HEART ATTACK; FUNERAL MONDAY

Funeral services were held at the First Reformed Church here at 1:30 P.M. for John Kleene, 50, a resident of Sioux Center nearly all his life, who died unexpectedly Friday morning of a heart attack.

Services were conducted by the Reverend Marion Klaaren, with the Reverend Ben Ver Steeg assisting, and burial was made in the Sioux Center Community Cemetery. Vander Ploeg’s Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. A brief service was held at the Funeral Home preceding the service at the church.

Mr. Kleene, formerly employed by the Kosters Manufacturing Company of Sioux Center, had been operating a machine shop at Garner, Iowa, since February.

Mr. Kleene was born September 16, 1907, at Sioux Center and on February 18, 1932, he married Jacoba Jans at Canton, South Dakota.

Survivors include the widower; four daughters, Betty Ann of Sioux Center; Arlene (Mrs. Howard Smit) of Sioux Center; Jacoba (Mrs. Ralph Smith) of Havelack, North Carolina; and Adrianna (Mrs. Wayne Marra) of Hull; four sons, William of Raleigh, North Carolina, Le Roy, Gerald and Robert all pf Sioux Center.

He is also survived by five grandchildren and the following brothers and sisters: Johanna (Mrs. Clarence De Vos) of Doon; Ida (Mrs. Arie Vierhout) of Sanborn; Ann (Mrs. Arthur Johnson) of George; Clara (Mrs. Elmer Roosenboom) of Edna, Iowa; Henry of Le Mars; and Wilbert of Hull.
