Cornelius Klein passed away Friday afternoon at the home of his son, Joe C. Klein, where he had been staying for the past week.

He had been failing in health, and suffered a slight stroke Wednesday, from which he seemed to recover, but passed away very suddenly Friday.

Mr. Klein was born at Pella, Iowa, February 27, 1863, and came to Sioux County with his parents at the age of six. They settled northwest of Orange City.

He was married in South Dakota to Aartje VerDuin, who proceeded him in death on February 20, 1927. A son, Peter Klein, also preceded him in death June 8, 1942.

Surviving are the following children: Joe C. Klein of Sioux Center, Neal Klein of Grand Rapids, Michigan, Arthur Klein of Orange City, Louis Klein of Maurice, John C. Klein of Sioux Center, Mrs. Harry Ten Harmsel of Sioux Center, and Marion Klein of Maurice. Twenty-seven grandchildren and twenty great-grandchildren also survive him.

He was remarried in 1929 to Mrs. Alice Walinga.
