Funeral services are being held in Hull this Thursday afternoon for Pvt. Merle Klay, son of Mr. and Mrs. Tennis Klay, who resides north of Hull, at 1:00 o’clock at the home and at 1:30 at the church.

Merle was fatally injured while droving a jeep on black-cat maneuvers last Thursday, dying in a hospital at Camp Polk, Louisiana.

Besides his parents, he is survived by his wife, Irma; the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Soodsma of Hull, and by two children, the youngest of only four who he had never seen; also his twin sister, another sister and two brothers.

His mother, Mrs. Tennis Klay is the former Tillie Postma, who was a clerk for some time in the Foppe Pioneer Store here before her marriage. The family have the heartfelt sympathy of a host of friends.
