From the Rock Valley Bee, April 9, 1926:

The little daughter, Dorothy, of Mr. and Mrs. T. R. Klay died Monday evening, her death being due to whooping cough. She was born August 14, 1925, and was seven months and twenty-two days old. Funeral services will be held this Thursday afternoon. The bereaved parents have the sympathy of many friends in their great sorrow.

From the Alton Democrat, April 9, 1926, Rock Valley news:

Dorothy, the infant daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Tate[?] Klay died of whooping cough Monday, April 5th, 1926. The child had been under the care of several doctors but gradually grew worse. The babe was born August 14th, 1925 and was the fourth child, having attained the age of seven months and twenty-one days. Funeral arrangements pending.
