Harthoorn, C. G. born 1874 died 1942 buried Valley View Cemetery Rock Valley. His estate sale was noted in the Sioux Center News of April 2, 1942, he had a farm just west of Rock Valley.

Mr. C. Harthoorn, 67, died a few minutes before six Friday evening. He has been ill for some time with heart Trouble. Mr. Harthoorn was born Oct 2, 1874 in the Netherlands. He married Gertie Van Donkelaar at Barneveldt, Netherlands on May 18, 1875 and migrated to this country in 1903. They have lived near Rock Valley the past few years. Mrs. Harthoorn passed away at her home Dec 4, 1940 Those left to mourn are the children Frances, Mrs. S. Faber, of Inwood; Gerrit, Alvord; Case, of Doon; Marinus of Sheldon; John of Larchwood and Cornelia Mrs. John Groeneweg and Kors both of Rock Valley. Funeral services were held on Tuesday afternoon in the Christian Ref. church.
