Arie Kersbergen, 75, a former resident of the Sioux Center area for more than 33 years, died Wednesday at Vlaardingert, The Netherlands, where he had lived for the last year. Mr. Kersbergen died of a heart attack.

Mr. Kersbergen was born March 9, 1879, in the Netherlands. He came to the United States in 1921, and farmed in the Sioux Center area for 15 years, before moving into Sioux Center.

His wife, Maria (Van Santen) Kersbergen, died in 1953, and in 1954, he returned to Holland, where two brothers and four sisters reside.

Survivors, besides the brothers and sisters, include two sons, Jay of North Bend, Nebraska and Major Gerrit, serving with the army at Richland, Washington; two daughters, Mrs. C. Vruegdenhil and Mrs. Ed Harkskamp, both of Sioux Center, nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Burial will be in The Netherlands.
