Funeral services for Jerome W. Kelley, 38, of San Francisco, California, a native of Hawarden, were held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday at St. Mary's Catholic Church. Reverend William Carel officiated and burial was in St. Mary's Cemetery under the direction of the Dow Funeral Home. The American Legion post of Hawarden conducted military graveside rites. Rosary was recited at 8:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Mr. Kelley died unexpectedly Friday at Santa Rosa, California.

He was born on June 12, 1929, to William and Lucile (Schafer) Kelley at Hawarden and spent his youth at Chatsworth, Iowa. He served three years in the Air Force after graduation from Hawarden High School and then attended Notre Dame University. He had resided the past 15 years in San Francisco, where he was employed as an insurance adjuster.

Survivors include three sisters, Mrs. Connie O'Connor of Phoenix, Arizona, Mrs. Roger Falde of Hawarden and Mrs. Jack Blake of Sonoma, California; three brothers, Patrick of Hawarden, Bill of Loveland, Colorado, and Michael of Massena, Iowa; an aunt, Mrs. F. Easton of Elma, Washington, and an uncle, Tom Kelley of Hawarden.
