LAST RITES FOR BELOVED MOTHER, AN ALTON NATIVE

Hundreds of Alton and Granville friends were shocked and saddened by the death of Mrs. Henry N. Kellen, 66, the former Dorothy J. Kokenge, 185 Ingleside Avenue, Sioux City, who died November 3rd after an illness of five weeks. Mrs. Kellen grew up on a farm near Alton and went to St. Mary’s Academy, one of the younger members of the prominent Kokenge family.

Funeral services were held at 10 A.M. November 5, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church at Alton with the Rt. Reverend Msgr. Zeno Reising officiating. Interment was at St. Mary’s Cemetery here.

Mrs. Kellen was born April 18, 1900 at Alton and was married April 14, 1920 in St. Mary’s Church here to Mr. Kellen. She was a member of the Catholic Daughters of America and Cathedral of Epiphany of Sioux City.

Survivors include the widower, one son, Carlton of Sioux City; two daughters, Mrs. Paul Gahan of Danbury and Miss Arleen Kellen of Omaha; also eight grandchildren; five brothers, Anton and Joseph, both of Granville, Alfred of Chicago, Matthew of George and Cyril of Estherville and three sisters, Mrs. Theodore Klein and Mrs. Gerald McCarthy, both of Granville, and Mrs. Wilfred Van Bergen of Worthington, Minnesota.
