Funeral Services Held Monday For Mrs. Kelley

Funeral services for Mrs. Patrick J. (Bettye) Kelley, 30, who died Friday at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Sioux City where she had major surgery the preceding Saturday, were held at 10 o'clock Monday morning at the Barnard Dow Funeral home, Father William Carel officiating. Burial was in St. Mary's Cemetery under the direction of the Barnard-Dow Funeral Home.

Casket bearers were Elwood Youngkin, Creighton Wegner, Dick Ball, Ken Giffin, Richard Harry and Marlo Green. Mrs. Peter Sinkey was the organist. The rosary was recited at the funeral home at 8 o'clock Sunday night.

Bettye Lou Turkett was born March 1, 1935, at Vernon, Texas, where she graduated from high school. She married Patrick J. Kelley, advertising manager at the Hawarden Independent, June 4, 1953, in a chapel at Reese Air Force Base, Lubbock, Texas. Hawarden had been her residence since 1955.

Survivors include the widower; two daughters, Sherri Lynn, 11, and Rebecca Ann, 8; one son, Patrick Shane, 6; her mother, Mrs. Clyde Turkett of Vernon, Texas; three sisters, Mrs. E. B. (Hilda) Willieford of Wichita Falls, Texas, and Miss Delores Turkett and Mrs. Larry (Judith) Smith, both of Vernon, Texas; four brothers, Marvin T. and William R. Turkett, both of Vernon, and Richard D. and Michael Turkett, both serving in the United States Navy. She was preceded in death by her father, Clyde Turkett, in 1962.
