On Wednesday of this week at St. Frances Convent at Dubuque, Iowa, Sister Mary Mercedes better known to Alton people as Margreta Wiltgen, answered the final summons after an illness of three years. Deceased was born in Luxemburg 29 years ago. At the age of 2 she came to this country with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Peter Wiltgen, who settled in Sioux county. A few years ago Margreta decided to devote her life to the Catholic church of which she was a devout member and she joined the St. Frances Sisters and since then has been engaged in teaching and was very successful in her work. She made her home at the St. Frances Convent at Dubuque, where the final summons reached her. The funeral services were held on Friday and interment was made in St. Frances cemetery at Dubuque. Miss Mary Wiltgen from here and Nic Wiltgen of LeMars attended the funeral. Peter Wiltgen was at Dubuque the forepart of the week to see his sister. Deceased is survived by three brothers and two sistesr--Peter, Miss Mary and Tony of Alton, and Nic and Mrs. Charles Earnest of LeMars.
