William Hansen, son of Mrs. Kate Hansen, passed away at the home of his mother at half past two this Friday morning after a short illness. This young man had been up in North Dakota with a threshing outfit and came home last Saturday on account of ill health. His trouble developed into typhoid fever and the young man was cut down in the prime of life and at the beginning of usefulness. William Hansen was born February 28th, 1890, at the Hansen farm home east of Alton, being therefore 23 years and 7 months old. He grew to manhood in this vicinity, living at home and helping with the farm work besides working at outside jobs such as he was on when taken sick. He was a member of the Luxemburger Bruder Bund of Granville. He is the first child to go of a family of eleven. He is survived by his mother and the following named brothers and sisters: Joseph of Lismore, Minn., Henry, Emil, Alvin and Theodore of Alton, Clem of South Dakota, Mrs. Nic Schneider, Philomena, Christena of Alton, and Sister M. Emiliana of Petersburg, Ia. The funeral will be held this
Saturday morning from St. Mary's church, Alton, at 9:30 o'clock. Father Brune will have charge of the services. Interment will be made in St. Mary's cemetery, Alton. The bereaved family and sorrowing friends have the sympathy of the whole community in their dark hour of trouble.
