Same issue, Alton Column:

Mrs. Homer Reed, formerly Miss Bessie Van Nimwegen, passed away Monday afternoon, suddenly, at her home in Sioux City. Mrs. Reed had not been well for some time, being subject to fainting spells, but her sudden death was a hard blow to her many friends and to her relatives. She was a member of the Case Van Nimwegen family, who is a brother of the Van Nimwegen brothers, William and John, living here. The family recently moved to Sioux City from South Dakota, and formerly conducted a bakery here. Mrs. Reed had been married two years; she was twenty-seven years of age. Her death occurred just after she had returned from the packing house, taking a lunch to her husband who is a bookkeeper there. When she reached home she sat down in a chair on the porch and immediately fainted away. Some children playing in the street saw that she was ill and called to their mother who brought help. The funeral was held from the American Reformed church in Orange City Thursday afternoon, Rev. McEwan officiating. Many friends and relatives from here and from Sioux City attended the funeral.
