Little Kenneth Katje died at the Sioux City hospital last Thursday, August 28, a little over 24 hours after he was stricken with bulgar type polio.

The lad was sick Wednesday with a sore throat, by evening he had become partially paralyzed, and was hospitalized at Sioux City and underwent an operation late that night.

His death occurred Thursday afternoon, sometime after he had been placed in an iron lung.

Funeral services were held Saturday at the home with Reverend W. Hofman, Protestant Reformed Church minister officiating. Burial was made in the Orange City Cemetery, with A. D. Van Etten Funeral Service attending.

The child is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Katje; four other children, Ronald, Cheryl, Arlan and Conley; and his grandparents of Orange City, Mr. and Mrs. August Katje and Mr. and Mrs. Henry Kramer, Sr.
