Mrs. Matilda (Trebon) Kaskie, 68 years old, a resident of South Dakota for twenty years, passed away suddenly in her home at Montrose, South Dakota, Sunday, January 21, 1934.

She was born near Fairbank, Iowa, and grew to womanhood there. She was united in marriage to William Kaskie at Storm Lake, Iowa and to this union six children were born, one son, Arthur, having preceded her in death.

After leaving Storm Lake, the family moved to Rock Valley vicinity where they resided for many years and it was here that her husband died in 1908.

She was a God fearing, Christian woman, a kind and loving mother, and a devoted member of the Catholic Church.

Funeral services were held in St. Patrick’s Church in Montrose, South Dakota at 9:00 o’clock Wednesday morning and interment was made in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Rock Valley.

Surviving are five children: Roy and Adeline of Mitchell, South Dakota; Vincent and Lawrence, Montrose, South Dakota; and Mrs. Peter Boers, Howard, South Dakota; also three brothers, Chas, Henry and Gus Trebon; one sister, Mrs. J. Beierschmitt, and her aged mother, of Fairbank, Iowa, one sister, Mrs. F.P. Berger of Sioux City and one brother, A. Trebon of Rock Valley.
