MRS. GERRIT KAS

Mrs. Gerrit Kas died October 13 at the home of her daughter Mrs. Herman Vos near Ireton. She had been ill for a short time with pneumonia.

Mrs. Rientje (Haarsma) Kas was born December 30, 1849 in Friesland, The Netherlands. She had lived in America for 54 years and most of the time near Orange City.

Surviving her are 4 daughters and one son who are: Mrs. Henry Den Hartog of Orange City, Mrs. John Draayer of Ireton, Mrs. Dick Vander Muelen of Rock Valley, Mrs. Herman Vos, and Dick Kas of Holland, Minnesota.

William De Bruyn directed the funeral which was held October 16 in the home and at the First Reformed Church in Orange City. Reverend J. Dyk officiated. Burial was made in the Orange City Cemetery.
