Found a family report on ancestry.com Alexander Gilmer was born 10 Jan 1821 at Ballynure, Co. Natrim, Ireland died Dec 1896 Ireton Sioux Iowa. He was the son of John Gilmer 1799-1880 and Isabelle Cochrane 1796-1860. He was married to Jane Lyness 1819-1880. They were the parents of the five children listed in the family history. Jane Lyness was born Feb 1819 Belfast Ireland died 26 Jun 1881 Winsted MN as reported in the ancestry family history, however she is buried in Pleasant Hill Cemetery Ireotn IA, according to the WPA index of headstones done about 1939.
