Melisa Beth Johnson, 18, Harrisburg, died Friday, September 7, 1990, in the Brookings Hospital.

She was born June 25, 1972, in Canton. In high school she was active in track and basketball. She graduated from Harrisburg High School this year. She was enrolled as a freshman at South Dakota State University in Brookings.

Survivors include her parents: Bernard and Jennie Johnson, Harrisburg; her great-grandfather, Bernard Timmer, Doon, Iowa; three brothers: Paul, Tom, and Tyler, allat home; a sister, Jeanne, at home; and a special friend, Aaron Van Holland, Harrisburg.

Services were held at 2 P.M. Monday, September 10 in the Netherlands Reformed Church Rock Valley. Burial was in Valley View Cemetery, Rock Valley.

Visitation was held at the Porter Funeral Home in Rock Valley.
