Funeral services for Mrs. Winona M. Johnson, 85, of Hudson were held Thursday, January 16, at 2:00 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Hawarden with Dr. G.S. Bruland officiating. Burial was in Grace Hill Cemetery in Hawarden.

Mrs. Ivoran Noe was organist, and Mrs. Burdette Sundstrom was soloist. Casket bearers were Harold Smith, Rex Smith, Dale Smith, Charles Gourley, Clifford Burke, and John F. Smith.

Mrs. Johnson died Monday, January 13, at the Hawarden hospital.

She was born July 1, 1883, on a farm near Ruble to Florence and William Boyer. She grew up in the Ruble vicinity and received her education in schools in this area. She married Jesse H. Johnson on March 13, 1902, at Akron. Following their marriage, Mr. and Mrs. Johnson lived on a farm in the Ruble vicinity until 1912 when they moved to a farm near Hawarden. In 1919 the family moved to their farm home near Hudson in Lincoln County.

Mrs. Johnson was a member of the Hawarden Methodist Church.

Survivors include two sons, Elmer N. of Hardy, Arkansas, and Harold S. of Hudson; two daughters, Mrs. Florence Berg of Hudson and Mrs. Wilbur Dixon of Hudson; seven grandchildren; 15 great- grandchildren, and two sisters, Mrs. Clark Childs and Mrs. Fred Ista, both of Walcott, North Dakota.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and one son, Irvin.
