Marvin Erwin Jepsen, 77, of Correctionville died Wednesday, February 4, at his residence. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Grace Lutheran Church in Correctionville, with Reverend Dave Daumer officiating. Burial in Correctionville Cemetery,with military conducted by the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1750 of Correctionville.

Marvin was born July 29,1926, in Battle Creek, Iowa, son of Jurgen & Hannah (Broders) Jepsen. He grew up and was educated in Cushing, Iowa, where he was baptized and confirmed at Grace Lutheran Church. He served his country in the U.S. Navy during World War II.

On February 15, 1948, he was united in marriage to Marjorie Cosler in Cherokee, where the couple lived for a time. His life's work was in farming, when they moved to the home place near Cushing. They later moved to a farm south of Correctionville. They had made their home in Correctionville for the past 14 years. He was a member of Grace Lutheran as well as the Veterans of Foreign War Post 1750. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping and gardening. His greatest reward in his life was found in his family and friends.

Survivors include his beloved wife of 55 years, Marjorie; daughter Judy (George) Plendi of Orange City; three sons, Ronald (Lorie) of Bronson, Dennis (Fil) of Elkridge, Maryland, Larry (Lori) of LaVista, Nebraska; nine grandchildren; sister, Esther Sientz of Danbury; brother, Arthur Jepsen of Sioux City; other relatives and neighbors and good friends.

He preceded in death by his parents, son, Marvin Jr.; two grandsons, Rodney & Ryan; two brothers, Raymond and Elmer.
