From the Boyden Reporter, October 17, 1918:

Anna Magaretha Kruse

Mrs. Friedrich Kruse, well known in this community, passed away last Friday, at her country home northwest of Boyden, after an illness of only a few days duration. She had been ailing for the past two years. The funeral was held Monday at the Ger[man] Lutheran Church, with Rev. W. Baetke officiating. Interment was made in the church cemetery.

Anna Magaretha Kruse, nee Nintzel, was born at Lamstedt, Hanover, Germany, on the seventeenth day of October, 1847, and passed away Friday, October 11th, 1918, had she lived but a few days longer she would have reached her 69th birthday. On June 3, 1870, she was married to Mr. Friedrich Kruse and to this union eight children were born, six sons and two daughters, one daughter having passed away in infancy. They are: J. H. Kruse, Peter, Fred, William, Ernest, August and Mrs. Emma Moeller; they together with the loving husband and father, are left to mourn her death.

In the fall of 1876, deceased together with her family came to America, and lived here in Sheridan township, Sioux county, ever since. She was a devout member of the German Lutheran Church and loved and cherished by all who knew her. The Reporter extends its sincere sympathy to the bereaved relatives.

The Sioux County Cemetery Index has Kruse, Anna Margaretha, b. 17 Oct 1849, d. 11 Oct 1918, ss Friedrich, St. Johns Luth Cem Boyden IA. The birth year and spelling of her middle name are confirmed in her entry on FindaGrave.com, which contains a photo of the joint headstone of her and her husband. This entry also includes a fuller name for her: Anna Margaretha Buck Nintzel Kruse.

The parish register of St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church of America, Boyden on Ancestry.com has Kruse, Anna Margaretha nee Buck, wife of Friedrick Kruse, born Oct. 17, 1849 in Hannover, Germany, died Oct. 11, 1918. But confirmation entries for her son Friedrich Heinrich and daughter Emma Margaretha give her birth name as Nintzel.

Iowa Deaths and Burials 1850-1990 on Ancestry.com (text transcription only, no image) has Anna Magratha Wintzel Kruse, married (husband’s name not given), born 17 Oct. 1849 in Germany; parents Peter Wintzel and Anna Wintzel; died 11 Oct. 1918 in Sheridan Township, buried 14 Oct. 1918.
