JOHN JANSMA DIES AT HOME IN MAURICE

John Jansma, who has been ill the past winter, died as a result of a stroke at 8 o’clock Sunday morning at his home in Maurice.

Burial services were held at 1:30 at the home and 2:00 at the First Reformed Church Tuesday afternoon, Reverend J. Straks officiating.

He was born at Verwerd Vriesland, The Netherlands, in 1852. He came to America in 1881, settling first in Holland, Michigan.

Later he moved to Orange City where he did truck gardening before moving to the farm 2 ˝ miles west of Maurice. On this place he remained 25 years. The last 20 years he has been living with the Charles Jansma family.

Mr. Jansma remained single. Surviving relatives include one sister, Mrs. Able De Groot, nephews Charles Jansma, Chas and George De Groot of Maurice, Harry De Groot of Doon, Dick Jansma of Hawarden, John Jansma of Broadview, Montana and nieces Mrs. Ed De Jager, of Orange City, Mrs. Nick Hibma of Ocheden and Mrs. J.R. Thomas of Galesburg, Illinois.

Sincere sympathy is extended the bereaved by many friends at the loss of their uncle and brother.
