Mr. Peter F. Jansma passed away Sunday, July 20, 1969, at the Rock Rapids Hospital following a two week period of hospitalization following a stroke. He had reached the age of 57 years.

Mr. Jansma was born March 10, 1912 at Hull, Iowa to the late Mr. and Mrs. Teunis and Jane (Van Dyk) Jansma. He received his education in a rural school in Hull area. February 10, 1937, he was united in marriage to Anna Vander Kooi at Edgerton, Minnesota. She preceded him in death on March 21, 1849, following the birth of a child. The Jansmas lived on a farm near Doon for eight years following their marriage. In 1945 Mr. Jansma purchased the Bee Hive Store and operated the Bee Hive Variety Store at Rock Valley and two Laundromat and dry cleaning establishments in Rock Rapids.

The deceased was a member of the Protestant Reformed Church of Hull and for many years served on the Consistory of that Church.

Mr. Jansma is survived by three sons and one daughter: Thelmar of Sheldon, Wilmar of Ames, Jeanene and Andrew of Hull; five brothers and one sister: Dick and Walter of Rock Rapids, Dorothy (Mrs. Ernest De Groot) of Chino, California, Tunis of Hudson, South Dakota, Floyd of Hull and James of Doon.

He was preceded in death by his wife, his parents, and infant son, and two brothers, Andrew and William.

Funeral services were held on Wednesday, July 23, 1969 at 1:30 P.M. from the First Christian Reformed Church of Hull with the Reverend Robert Decker, minister of the Protestant Reformed Church of Doon officiating. Interment took place at Hope Cemetery in Hull.

Mrs. Adolph Bylsma served and led the congregation in the singing of two hymns, “I Will Sing of My Redeemer” and “O God How Good Thou Art”. Serving as pallbearers were Tunis J. Jansma, Harold E. Jansma, Tunis L. Jansma, Tony W. Jansma, Tunis Jansma and William Jansma.
