Son of Anne Joukes Jansma and Maaike A. VanderLinden. Husband of Johanna Hoffs. Father of George, Louis, Alvin, Mabel, Marinus Jr., Hendrika & Gordon.

Brother of Jacob, Elizabeth, John, Jacob, Grace, Heiltje, Maria, Minnie, Leonard, Frederick & Annie.

Marinus Jansma died at his home on Friday morning at 3:20 o'clock, at the age of 66 years, 4 months and 2 days. He was born at Pella on September 17, 1867 and on December 30, 1891, married Johanna Hoffs of Newkirk. To this union six children were born, as follows - George of Sioux Center; Louis of Beaver Creek, Minnesota; Alvin of Milwaukee; Mabel (Mrs. Ira Van Beek) of Hollandale, Minnesota; Marinus Jr. of Hospers; and Gordon of Milwaukee. He was reared at Newkirk, this county, and received his education at the Northwestern Academy at Orange City. He taught school at Newkirk and at Maurice and later served 19 years as rural mail carrier, followed by the past 14 years as post master of Hospers. Mr. Jansma is survived by his wife and six children and by 8 grandchildren. Three brothers also survive him, but five sisters and one brother preceded him in death.

Funeral services were held on Monday at 1:00 o'clock in the home and at 1:30 o'clock in the First Reformed Church with Reverend M. A. Stegeman conducting and Reverend G. H. Donwetra of Hull also speaking works of comfort to the bereaved family. Burial was made at the cemetery west of Hospers. Pallbearers were J. P. Wierda, Arthur Bierks, Joe Reinders, Stephen De Vries, W. Vander Kamp and J. R. Landbuis.
