MRS. VAN ROEKEL DIED SUDDENLY--WAS 78 YEARS OLD--FUNERAL AT SIOUX CENTER WAS HELD MONDAY

Mrs. Gerrit Van Roekel passed away very suddenly last Wednesday morning during the blizzard which raged all that day. She had a premonition of her death and sent her daughter to the neighbor for help. When they returned she had already passed on while seated in her chair. A heart attackto which she was subject for some time, was the cause of her death.

Mrs. Van Roekel was born in the Netherlands but came to this country when a small child with her parents. Her maiden name was Aartje Juffer. She was married twice--Jacob Jans and Gerrit Van Roekel and six children of the first marriage survive their mother. They are Jake Jans of Boyden, Dick Jans, Sioux Center; Mrs. Bert Van Roekel, Mrs. John Vos and Mrs. Gerrit Kramer, all of Sioux Center, Miss Bertha at home. She is also survived by one brother, Will Juffer of Edgewood, New Jersey and one sister, Mrs. Art Vileger of Artesian, South Dakota.

She was 70 years old at the time of her death.

The family have the sincere sympathy of the community in their sorrow.

Funeral service were held at the home and the Second Christian Reformed Church on Monday afternoon, in charge of Reverend Ypms.
