The deceased was apparently in good health on the day of his death, and after the supper hour walked down town to spend the evening, as was his usual custom. While sitting in a pool hall his heart became troublesome and he immediately went to the office of Dr. McCaughan for treatment, but before medical aid could be administered he dropped dead in a chair.

Mr. Siebe De Jager, who lived with his children in Ireton for several years, suddenly passed away on Wednesday evening. He had still worked that day and ate well in the evening, but since he had felt unwell for a few days, he went to the doctor. He treated him for pain near the heart, thereby lessening it somewhat. On the way home, it became worse, and he fell down unconscious; blood came out of his mouth and at 9 o'clock he breathed his last. His wife lives in Orange City. The two eldest daughters are married. Gertrude lives in Kansas City, Mo., and Jennie in Colton, S.D., who also came here for the funeral. Four boys, Steven, Gerrit, Hubert and Willem work in the vicinity of Ireton, and two more girls, Lucy and Nellie were at home with their father.
