Funeral services were held at Vander Ploeg’s Funeral Chapel here at 10 A.M. Saturday, August 24, for Bertha Jans, 79, at Sioux Center Community Hospital after a brief illness.

Services were conducted by the Reverend Wesley Kiel of Central Reformed Church and burial was in Memory Gardens Cemetery here.

Miss Jans was born in Sioux Center March 12, 1895, and resided in this community most of her life. She had been a resident of Pleasant Valley Nursing Home in Hull in recent years.

She is survived by a number of nephews and nieces.
