Funeral services held Wednesday for Hilbert Jager, 53

Funeral services were held on Wednesday, July 19, at 1:30 p.m. from the First Reformed Church of Orange City for Hilbert Jager, 53. Reverend Donald Lenderink pastor of the Trinity Reformed Church of which he was a member officiated. Burial was made in the West Lawn Cemetery under the direction of the Van Etten Funeral Home.

Mr. Jager died Sunday evening at the Orange City Muncipal Hospital after a short period of hospitalization.

Pallbearers were Peter Brower, John Kleinnesselink, Jake Mars, Ronald Lee De Jong, Ray P. De Jong and Henry O. Mouw.

He was born to Peter and Bessie (Bruins) Jager at Sioux Center, Iowa on May 24, 1914. He married Henrietta Cleveringa at Alton, Iowa on February 24, 1939, The family farmed for a time in the Maurice and Orange City areas and moved to Orange City in 1944 when he became engaged in the gravel, earth moving and excavation business.

Survivors are the widow and four children, Phillip, Daniel, Debra and Tammy all at home.

Other survivors include three sisters, Mrs. Dorothy Wielenga, Mrs. John Wynstra and Mrs. John Stremler all of Lynden, Washington.

He was preceded in death by one brother Neal who lost his life in the battle of Belgian Bulge during World War II.
