Peter Jager, who died unexpectedly in his home January 2, was born in The Netherlands March 31, 1881. He was 12 years old when he came to Kansas with his parents, Hilbert and Dora (Meijer) Jager.

When he came to Sioux County, he first lived at Sioux Center where he was married to Bessie Bruins, December 29, 1904. She died January 29, 1932. To this union five children were born.

He was married to Nancy Reusink June 29, 1933 and she survives him with four children: Dorothy (Mrs. Albert Wielenga) of Orange City, Alice (Mrs. John L. Stremler) and Wilma (Mrs. John Wynstra), both of Lynden, Washington, and Hilbert Jager of Orange City.

One son, Neal Jager, preceded him in death two years ago, a casualty of World War II.

Also surviving are three grandchildren and two brothers and six sisters, namely Mrs. A. Vander Veen and Mrs. William Heynen of Sioux Center, Case Jager, John Jager, Mrs. Henry Polinder, Mrs. Andy Wouters, and Miss Kate and Miss Cena Jager, all of Lynden, Washongton.

Funeral services were held at the First Christian Reformed Church of Orange City Tuesday with Reverend R. Bronkema officiating. Burial was in the Orange City Cemetery.
