Note: In an ancestry.com report (by Others) Theodore Augustus Greiner was born 10 Nov 1841 New York and died 28 Aug 1906 Hawarden IA. Son of Johann Jacob Greiner 1810-1891 and Henrietta L. Lieber 1816-1891. He was married to Emma Jane Mason born 25 April 1858 died 14 Sep 1905 Hawarden IA. Daughter of Levi Mason 1819-1892 and Persis Yuelin Baldwin 1829-1906. Children Howard 1883, Lynn 1891-1892, and Ada May 1896.

Death of T. A. Greiner
T. A. Greiner of Pioneer, Iowa, a former resident of this city, died Tuesday at the Samaritan hospital in Sioux City, from cancer of the stomach. The deceased was born in Otsego county, N. Y., Nov. 10, 1851. He resided in his native state until he was twenty three when he removed Hastings, Iowa, where he engaged in the mercantile business.

In 1877 he was united in marriage to Miss Emma J. Mason, of Clayville, N. Y. After a time they removed to Hawarden. There three children were born, Howard M. aged 22, Ada May, aged 10 and Lynn M,, who died in infancy.

While living here he was always identified with the up building of the town and in all philanthropic movements. He was converted when a young man and was a member of the Congregational church. The remains were brought to Hawarden yesterday and the funeral was held at the home of L. L. Heald, the services being conducted by Rev. Hurling. The Modern Woodmen conducted the services at the grave.

Besides his children he leaves two brothers and four sisters to mourn his loss, his wife having proceeded him in death Sept. 14, 1905. The friends who are left will long remember the man kind things he did and the charitable nature he always manifested toward everyone.
