Richard Green died at his home five miles southwest of Alcester Tuesday night, after an immediate illness of only a few days. The deceased was in his 67th year. He came to Sioux county from Missouri about eight years ago and farmed southeast of this city until a few weeks ago. On the first of March he moved onto the farm southwest of Alcester, where he was stricken with paralysis and passed suddenly away. He was highly esteemed by all who made his acquaintance. The funeral was held in this city this afternoon from the Methodist church, Rev. Houghton conducting the services.

Besides his wife he leaves six children to mourn his death. The children are Mrs. M. A. Brest, Mrs. Geo. Dick, Mrs. A. Wiseman, Mrs. Oscar Fletcher, Mrs. Rufus Hutchinson, A C. Green and N. K. Green.
