From the Alton Democrat, March 27, 1925, Hull news:

Mr. and Mrs. Case Van Batavia mourn the loss of their son who died last week at the Luverne hospital. Mr. Van Batavia who was a former resident of Hull has the sympathy of friends in this community.

From the Sioux County Index (Hull), March 20, 1925:

Bert Van Batavia and J. M. Van Wyk autoed to Luverne, Minnesota, Tuesday to see the sick son of Mr. and Mrs. Case Van Batavia, who is in the hospital there and very low.

From the Sioux County Index (Hull), March 27, 1925:

BURIED HERE SATURDAY

The twelve year old son of Mr. and Mrs. Case Van Batavia, of Steen, Minnesota, whom we mentioned [one line obscured] and was buried in Hope Cemetery here last Saturday afternoon. This is a sad blow to the parents and brothers and sisters and much sympathy is felt for the bereaved family.
