From the Boyden Reporter, March 26, 1925:

FORMER RESIDENT WAS BROUGHT HERE FOR BURIAL

The remains of Mrs. Ella Hutchison Sharp, who passed away at Fond du Lac, Wis., on Sunday, was brought to Spirit Lake for burial, arriving Tuesday morning. The funeral services were held from the Donovan Undertaking Parlors at 1:30 Tuesday afternoon. Rev. J. H. Edge of the M. E. church conducted the services. Interment was made in Lakeview cemetery.

Ella Hutchinson[sic] Sharp was born at Mechanicsville, Ia., on Jan. 2nd, 1855. She was united in marriage in Jones county, Iowa, in 1871 to L. Walbridge. Two children were born to this union. Mr. Walbridge passed away in 1878. She then went to Boyden, Iowa, to live. In 1883 she was united in marriage to Geo. B. Sharp at Gladbrook, Iowa. They resided at Boyden and later at Spirit Lake where in 1905 Mr. Sharp passed away. She then went to Fond du Lac, Wis., to reside with her daughter. She passed into the great Beyond Sunday, March 8th, 1925, after a week's illness following a stroke of apoplexy.

She leaves to mourn her loss one daughter, Mrs. L. L. Lowry, Fond du Lac, Wis., and one son, O. B. Walbridge, Chicago, Ill. Two step-children, Mrs. John Finch of Spirit Lake and C. G. Sharp. Three grand children, Mrs. L. N. Miller, Waseca, Minn., Leslie and Kenneth Walbridge, Chicago, Ill. Two brothers, J. D. Hutchinson, Pomona, Calif., and J. W. Hutchison, Beaman, Ia., and one sister, Mrs. D. B. Pettit, passed away in 1909.

She was a member of the M. E. church, Eastern Star and Rebecca's orders.

Those in attendance at the funeral from away were: A. B. Walbridge and son Kenneth, Mr. and Mrs. L. L. Lowry, Mr. and Mrs. L. N. Miller, Mrs. B. H. Brown, of Austin, Minn., and Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Pettit of Grundy Center.--Spirit Lake Beacon.
