Funeral services were held on Friday, January 10, at the First Reformed Church of Hospers for Gertrude Te Grotenhuis who passed away on January 7 in the Orange City Municipal Hospital, Reverend E. Van Engelenhoven of Orange City officiated and burial was in the Newkirk Cemetery.

Mrs. Gertrude Te Grotenhuis, nee Den Hartog, was born December 18, 1881, near Middleburg. On October 1, 1905, she was united in marriage to Albertus Huygens at Alton. To this union were born the following: Mrs. Henrietta Vander Zwaag of Hull, John J. Huygens and James C. Huygens both of Hospers and Adrian W. Huygens of Akron. Mr. Huygens died March 16, 1913. On April 10, 1919, she married Dick De Graaf at Hospers. They had one son, Ivan, of Seattle, Washington. Mr. De Graaf died on May 18, 1942. On March 31, 1945, she was married to Henry Te Grotenhuis at Alton. Mr. Te Grotenhuis died December 11, 1960. She is also survived, in addition to her four children, 14 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. One grandson was killed in Viet Nam on July 5, 1968.

Pallbearers were Glen Vander Zwaag, Claude Vander Zwaag, Henry G. Vander Zwaag, Allen Huygens, Al Schwartz and Larry Huygens.
