The funeral of Mr. Arend Humme, who died at his home 6 miles north-west of Hull, was held from the First Reformed Church, Hull, Iowa Monday, February 7, 1916. The Reverend A.J. Bouma preaching the funeral sermon. A large and sympathetic audience being present.

Mr. Arend Humme was born at Deventer, Gelderlad, Netherland, August 27, 1837 being at the time of his death 78 years, 5 months and 7 days old.

On October 13, 1865, he was married to Lamberdina Florizn. To this union four children were born, two of them died, one at the age of 2 years and one at the age of 27 years. He is survived by his beloved wife and two children, Mrs. L. Van Sloten of Alvord and John of Hull. He came to this country in 1894. Mr. and Mrs. Humme celebrated their Golden Wedding October 13, 1915.

Mr. Humme was a devoted member of the First Reformed Church at Hull. He had a host of friends at Hull and his untimely departure is felt by the entire community. He was a devoted Christian, having found his Savior in early youth in whom he trusted with an ardent heart. The remains were laid to rest in Hope Cemetery at Hull.
