William Humme, 82, of Boyden died Monday, April 24, in a nursing home in Rock Rapids.

Services were at 1:30 P.M. Thursday, April 27, at the First Reformed Church in Boyden with the Reverend John Goertz officiating. Burial was in the Boyden Cemetery.

Humme was born July 13, 1906, in Hull. He married Grace Prins December 11, 1928, in Sioux Center. The couple farmed north of Hull until 1943 when they moved to a farm near Boyden where they farmed until 1953. In 1954 they moved into Boyden. He was a carpenter for several years.

He was a member of the First Reformed Church in Boyden and served on the consistory.

Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Kathryn Slykhuis of Boyden; a son, John of Boyden; a foster daughter, Lori Belsaas of Bellevue, Nebraska; two sisters, Dena Humme of Hull and CobaVan Wyk of Sanborn; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
