Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon, May 4, for Herman Hundt, 80, who passed away on Friday April 28, at the MPC Hospital at Rock Rapids. Dr. P.A. Hinrichs officiated at the services which were held from the Hundt home followed with services from St. John Lutheran Church north of Boyden. Interment was made in St. John Cemetery. Mr. Hundt had been in pour health for some time, and was considered seriously ill on April 11.

Herman Hundt was born in the Province of Hanover, Germany, on November 17, 1874. His parents were Heinrichs Hundt and Marie Meyer Hundt. The deceased came to America at the age of 16 and made his home with a cousin, Herman Meyer, near Boyden.

In 1902 he was married to Anna Winter and they farmed the now Wilhelmina Meyer farm, then moved to the farm near St. John Church in 1919. They retired from farming in 1945 and lived in a smaller home on the farm. Mrs. Hundt passed away on April 14, 1958.

They are survived by three children, Henry Hundt of Boyden; Marie, Mrs. Walter Hensch of Hull; and Elsie, Mrs. Henry Kruse of Sheldon. Also surviving are 7 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren and two sisters, Mrs. Bertha Schaefer of Sheldon and Mrs. Metta Offerman of Germany.
