Lucille French, 83, of Hawarden, died Tuesday, Dec. 29, 1987, at her home in Hawarden. Service were held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 31, in the Associated Church, in Hawarden, with the Rev. Fritz officiating. Burial was in Grace Hill Cemetery. Visitation was held Wednesday, Dec. 30, in the Dow Funeral Home, in Hawarden.

Mrs. French, the former Lucille Younie, was born July 18, 1904, rural Hawarden. She graduated from
Hawarden High School in 1921 and attended Morningside College. She then worked for Dr. Kelley in Hawarden. On Oct. 19, 1922, she married Warren French in Hawarden. He died Jan. 4, 1968.
Mrs. French was a member of the Associated Church and a past member of Entre Nous and Women's
Fellowship of the church. She was a past member of the Order of Eastern Star, Rebekah Lodge, American Legion Auxiliary, and Hawarden Senior Citizens Group. She was a charter and 40-year member of Nu Fu, of Hawarden.

Survivors include a son, Charles, of Sioux City; two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
