From the Sioux County Index (Hull), August 22, 1924:

MRS. A. BRUNSTING DIES

It was reported to this office, Wednesday morning that Mrs. A. Brunsting had dropped dead, from heart failure, late Tuesday evening.

She is survived by her husband, three sons and two daughters, all grown to manhood and womanhood and has several grandchildren, and the sincere sympathy of all is extended to those who mourn.

The surviving children are, Mrs. H. VanMaanen. R. A. Brunsting, L. A. Brunsting, Mrs. Ed VanderWerff and H. A. Brunsting. An obituary will be published next week.

OBITUARY

Ms. A. L. Brunsting nee Miss Margie Timmerman was born February 14th 1856 in the Province of Drente, Netherlands. On the 17th of May 1882 she was united in marriage to Mr. A. L. Brunsting who with the five children survive her.

In March of the year 1889 Mr. and Mrs. Brunsting came to this country, settling at Alton where they resided for a time moving to the vicinity of Hull many years ago.

She died on August 17th 1924 being 68 years 6 months and 5 days old. Burial services were held Friday afternoon from the home and from the Christian Reformed Church, Reverends Heynen of Middleburg and Rev. Haan of Kalamazoo, Michigan officiating. The remains were laid to rest in beautiful Hope Cemetery.

Mrs. Brunsting was of a kindly disposition and was well liked by all who knew her and the sincere sympathy of the community is extended to the surviving relatives.

From the Alton Democrat, August 30, 1924, Hull news:

Mrs. Albert Brunsting passed away last week Tuesday evening [August 19] from heart failure. Mrs. Brunsting seemed to feel better of late and walked one block to her daughter's Mrs. H. Van Maanen, on arrival felt somewhat fatigued and in a few minutes passed away at the age of 68 years. Mrs. Brunsting arrived with husband and family from Holland in 1889. She is survived by her husband, three sons and two daughters. Sincere sympathy is extended to the family. The surviving children present were Mrs. H. Van Maanen, R. A. Brunsting, Mrs. Ed Vander Werff and H. A. Brunsting. L. A. Brunsting who is attending Hope College could not be present. Mr. A. Brunsting will make his home at his daughter's Mrs. H. Van Maanen.

Her death certificate gives her name as Marie Brunsting; parents Roelof Timmerman and Gertie Wissel; died August 19, 1924 of apoplexy.
