Funeral held January 30 for C.G. Hulstein

Funeral services were held at Central Reformed Church here at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, January 30, for Cornelius G. Hulstein, 81, well-known retired farmer, and a life-long resident of the community, who died at the Sioux Center Community Hospital January 27.

Services were conducted by the Reverend Wesley Kiel and burial was in Sioux Center Memory Gardens with the Co-operative Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Hulstein was born near Sioux Center November 26, 1891. He married Clara Vermeer at Hull December 23, 1914. She died August 24, 1958. On November 3, 1960, Mr. Hulstein was married to Anna Van Muyden in Sioux Center.

Survivors include the widow; three sons, Gerrit of Ft. Atkinson, Wisconsin, Raymond of Hull and Harold of Hartley; four daughters, Mrs. Albert (Gertrude) Brunsting of Hawarden, Mrs. John (Cornelia) Wiersma of Ft. Atkinson, Nebraska, Mrs. Darrel (Shirley) Hartman of Maurice and Mrs. Adolph (Esther) Trauig of Sioux City; five stepsons, Peter and Marvin Van Muyden of Sioux Center, Lester Van Muyden of Hull, Milton Van Muyden of Des Moines and Glen Van Muyden of Sacramento, California; three stepdaughters, Mrs. Glen (Margaret) Brinkhuis of Sacramento, Mrs. Gerben (Ethyl) Gerritson of Doon and Mrs. John (Leona) Mulder of Sioux Center; three brothers, William and Steven Hulstein of Sioux Center and Raymond of Edgerton, Minnesota; one sister, Mrs. George Lihudis, Sioux Center; 31 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, 20 step-grandchildren and 13 step-great-grandchildren.
