Oldest Granville Resident Dies
Mr. Carl Fischer, Granville’s oldest resident passed away at his home on Wednesday morning at 4:20 after several months illness.
Carl Fischer was born in Bushenbach Germany on Jan 25 1857 and came to this country in April of 1903. He came to Granville in 1908. He was 90 years, 7 months and 20 days old at the time of his death. He married Kathleen (Katharina) Zink and had operated a truck farm.
Funeral services were held on Friday morning at St. Joseph’s cemetery beside his wife, Rev. C. H. Knobbe officiating. Burial was made in St. Jospeh’s cemetery besides his wife.
Attending the funeral from a distance were Miss Frances Hodapp of Mineapolis, MN, Miss Emma Hodapp of Posahontas, Mrs. George Brandel of Sleepy Eye MN, Mr. and Mrs Barney Hodapp. Mr. Leo Hodapp, and daughter , Mrs. Joh Marco, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Hodapp, Tony Hodapp and Mike Hodapp, Mr and Mrs Ed Wiersma all of Sibley, Mr. and Mrs. Bill Hodapp of Sherburn MN, Mr. and Mrs. Herman Hodapp of Milford, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Fisher and daughter of Iona MN, Mr. and Mrs. Bob Schnepp anf family of Oyens, Mr. and Mrs. John Ahlers, Mr. and Mrs. Pete Klein and family. Mr. and Mrs. Leo Croat and daughter Alice; Mr. and Mrs. Otto Hodapp and family, Mr. and Mrs. John Hodapp and family, Mrs. Rose Langenhorst and family, Mr. and Mrs. John Warnke and daughter.
