GERRIT HORSTMAN FUNERAL MONDAY
WAS RESIDENT OF SIOUX CENTER COMMUNITY 23 YEARS – BORN IN HOLLAND

Gerrit Horstman passed on shortly after noon on Friday, after a long illness, though he was confined to bed but a short time before his death.

He was a respected resident of this community, having come from Holland with his wife and four older children 23 years ago. The family have been farming near town since that time.

A daughter, Mrs. John Plantage of El Centro, California, arrived Saturday and on Monday services were held at the home and Central Reforned Church, Reverend Haverkamp officiating.

Mr. Horstman was 60 years of age at the time of his passing.

He is survived by his wife, Eva (Denekamp) Horstman and six children: John Horstman, Los Angeles, California; Mrs. John Plantage, El Centro, California; Joe Horstman. Sioux Center; Gerrit Horstman, Sanborn; Evert and Mrs. Peter Bartels, Sioux Center.

A seventh child, Grace, died a few years ago. The family has the sympathy of the community.
