MRS. HOOGTERP PASSES AWAY--FUNERAL HELD MONDAY AT HOSPERS PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH

Mrs. Henry Hoogterp died March 23 at the Sheldon Hospital after an illness of six days at the age of 64 years and 11 days.

Nenetje “Anna” De Kruif was born at Ede Gelderland, The Netherlands on March 12, 1871 and came to America at the age of 11 years and was married to Gysbert Vande Weerd on March 12, 1880 at Orange City, Iowa. To this union seven children were born, namely: Mrs. C. Van Henvelen of Archer, Herman Vande Weerd, Lime Springs, Iowa; Mrs. John Brink, Gasa, Iowa; John Vande Weerd, Hospers; Anna Vande Weerd of Sheldon; Mrs. John Vlieger, Hospers; Mrs. John De Graaf, Sanborn. Mr. Vande Weerd died in 1901.

On February 7, 1907, she was married to Henry Hoogterp, the father of five children: Fred Hoogterp, Rapid City, South Dakota; Broer Hoogterp, Camp Delliver, Iowa, Mrs. Fred Douma, Alton; Hons Hoogterp, Sioux City; Mrs. John Poppema, Hospers. To this union two children were born: Mrs. Herman Hofmeyer of Hospers and Mrs. Ralph Romberg of Los Alamedas, California.

Mrs. Hoogterp also leaves to mourn 46 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren and one sister, Mrs. Henry Breeschoten of Maple Lake, Minnesota; also two brothers: Ralph and Gerrit De Kruit of Hospers, besides many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by one sister, Minnie.

Funeral services were held Monday at the home at 1:30 and 2 P.M. at the First Presbyterian Church. Burial took place at the Presbyterian Cemetery.
