Funeral rites were held Saturday, April 6, for Julius J. Homan, 63 of Alton in St. Mary’s Church. Father Raymond Wieling officiated.

Mr. Homan was born June 7, 1804, in Alton. He farmed near Alton until 1966 when he retired due to ill health. He was a veteran of World War II. He died April 4 in Orange City Municipal Hospital.

Mr. Homan was married January 30, 1954 to Malvina Biever who survives him. He is also survived by a step-son and step-daughter: Duane A. Biever of Poughkeepsie, New York and Mrs. Pierre Chaussende of Paris, France. He had one granddaughter. Also surviving are his sister Mrs. Rose Van Deelen of Minneola, Minnesota and O.N. Horman of Mildred, Iowa.

Five sisters and brothers preceded Mr. Homan in death.
