Mrs. Joseph H. Homan, passed away in her sleep during the night of August 12th just six weeks after the sudden death of her husband who died of a heart attack. Mrs. Homan who had been ill for several months had been making steady improvement and she and her family were much encouraged about her condition.

Mrs. Homan (nee Mary Schroeder) was born near Alton. The couple were married in 1912.

Surviving are four children Leonard of Sioux City, Carl of Alton, Mrs. James Marshall (nee Anna Marie) of Pasadena, California and Gerald of Sioux City. Also eight grandchildren and two sisters and two brothers. The children were all here for the funeral also the two sisters, Mrs. Sophia Homan of Milwaukee and Mrs. Lucy Nemmers of Bird Island, Minnesota. Also here for the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Frank Homan and Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Homan of Milwaukee, Ben Homan of Grand Forks, North Dakota and Mrs. Charles Homan of Slayton.

Funeral services were held Tuesday morning in St. Mary’s Church.
