MRS. DJURRIE DE BOER

Mrs. Djurie DeBoer passed away at her home in Rock Valley at 10:30 Tuesday forenoon after a lingering illness of about a years duration.

The subject of this sketch was born in Holland Feb. 3, 1855 and died at her home in Rock Valley Feb. 20, 1924, aged 69 years and 17 days. Her early life was spent in her native land where she received her education and grew to womanhood. She was married to Djurrie DeBoer in 1881. A few years later they came to this country coming first to Chicago, and after residing there for six years they came to Sioux county and settled near Maurice, later moving onto a farm southeast of Rock Valley where they lived until fifteen years ago when they moved to Rock Valley and where they have since resided.

Besides her husband, Mrs. DeBoer leaves two sons, Nick and Jake DeBoer, and another son who died in infancy.

Mrs. DeBoer was a woman who was highly respected by all who knew her. She was a kind and loving wife and mother and her death is a great shock to the bereaved husband and sons.

Funeral services will be held from the Christian Reformed Church this Friday afternoon, Feb. 22. The bereaved relatives have the sympathy of many friends in their great sorrow.
