Mr. Teunis Hollander passed away at his home in Hull, Thursday, March 11th, after having been confined to his bed for only four days, following a stroke suffered Monday.

Funeral services were held in the local Christian Reformed Church Monday afternoon at 1:30 and interment was in the Sioux Center cemetery. Many friends and relatives attended the services to pay their last respects to the esteemed gentleman.

Pall bearers were Messrs. John Brouwer, William Brouwer, Richard Brouwer, John Vreeman, Harold Hollander, and James Hollander.

Mr. Teunis Hollander was born near Orange City on November 28, 1877, to Jacobus and Jeltje (Wynia) Hollander in a family of five, John (deceased), Tillie (deceased), Sarah (Mrs. H. Veldboom) or Orange City, himself, and Anna (Mrs. S. Smidt) of Des Moines.

On December 4, 1902, he was united in marriage to Hattie Wiersma, and together they started farming first at Orange City and then moved to a farm 2 miles north and 2 1/2 miles east of Sioux Center.

To this union 5 children were born. Julia, (Mrs. John Vreeman), Anna (Mrs. Tony W. Vander Wilt), James, John and Harold. She preceded him in death on August 12, 1936.

On January 27, 1938, he was united in marriage to Mrs. P. Brouwer, nee Johanna Wiersma and at that time moved to Hull.

Teunis Hollander passed away at his home on Thursday, March 11th, 1948, at the age of 70 years, 3 months and 13 days.

He is survived by his wife, five children, five step-children, 23 grandchildren, and two sisters.
