Peter Hofstra, 65, died Monday, September 23, 1991 in Sioux Valley Hospital, Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

Mr. Hofstra was born July 18, 1926, in Rock Rapids, Iowa. He worked in various restaurants and was a painter in Doon. He owned and operated Pete’s Steakhouse in Doon.

He married Ruth Rohweller on February 2, 1972, in Doon. They operated the steakhouse until retirement in 1990. His wife died March 24, 1991. He was a member of the Iowa Restaurant Association.

Survivors include two step-daughters: Sherrie Rohweller of Rock Valley, Iowa and Mrs. Anthony (Pam) Teuissen of Wyoming, Michigan; five step-grandchildren; one brother, Dick of Rock Rapids; and one sister, Mrs. Ervin (Jeanette) Lasckmann of Doon.

Services were held at 2 P.M. Thursday in the First Congregational Church, Doon, with burial in Riverview Cemetery, Rock Rapids.

Visitation was held at the Porter Funeral Home, Rock Valley.
